The Women's Initiative Network (WIN) is a local group consisting of women who were drawn together in support of a common concern: to garner resources for underserved populations throughout the City of Alexandria and Fairfax County area. Specifically, WIN mobilizes resources from within the community through volunteer activity, providing assistance to support black and brown communities.
WIN‘s mission is to aid the local Alexandria-Fairfax County communities and non-profit organizations and provide a framework to advance equity in alignment of the region’s priorities including the following pillars:
YOUTH ENGAGEMENT
ARTS & CULTURE
NATIONAL PROGRAMS
GLOBAL ISSUES & IMPACT
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Nyree Wright is the Founder of Women's Initiative Network (WIN). She developed the concept during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, seeing underserved communities falling even further behind in their needs being met.
Joined by 3 dear friends to get WIN off the ground: Jenny Abreu, Neneh Diallo and Kisha Killingsworth, WIN has grown to include dozens of women focused on the betterment of their communities.
